Aggregation-induced emission enhancement of polycyclic aromatic alkaloid derivatives and the crucial role of excited-state proton-transfer.

چکیده
Aggregation-induced emission enhancement (AIEE) phenomenon is observed in the polycyclic aromatic alkaloid derivatives due to the configuration changes in the excited state, which is attributed to intramolecular proton-transfer and the formation of a new structure of enol form.

Understanding the aggregation induced emission enhancement for a compound with excited state intramolecular proton transfer character.
A few of excited state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) compounds have been discovered for their aggregation induced emission enhancement (AIEE). To understand the AIEE mechanism, an ESIPT compound BTHPB (N-(4-(benzo[d]thiazol-2-yl)-3-hydroxyphenyl)benzamide) with simple structure was designed and synthesized. BTHPB showed apparent AIEE property and the emission efficiency was observed as...
متن کاملFemtosecond resolved fluorescence studies of molecular processes and ultrafast photochemistry in solution
The evolution of electronically excited states in aromatic compounds can be studied by resolving the spontaneous molecular emission through sum-frequency mixing techniques with femtosecond time resolution. In this communication, a brief review of the experimental technique is presented, together with two examples of its use to investigate photochemical and photophysical pathways in organic comp...

متن کاملHow is the AIE mechanism profoundly changed in an ESIPT family: the novel introduction of a tetraphenylethene group onto (Z)-3-(quinolin-2-ylmethylene)-3,4-dihydroquinoxalin-2(1H)-one.
It is reported that two derivatives of (Z)-3-(quinolin-2-ylmethylene)-3,4-dihydroquinoxalin-2-(1H)-one (1) with a tetraphenylethene (TPE) group introduced at amide N atom of the dihydroquinoxalinone moiety (2) or at phenyl ring of the quinoline fragment (3) are synthesized, and the derivatives exhibit a remarkably enhanced aggregation-induced emission (AIE) activity than the parent. Although bo...
متن کاملCyanostilben-based derivatives: mechanical stimuli-responsive luminophors with aggregation-induced emission enhancement.
Cyanostilbene derivatives with the aggregation-induced emission enhancement (AIEE) activity are prepared by Knoevenagel and Suzuki reactions. Among them, the dye (Z)-2,3-bis(4'-(diphenylamino)-[1,1'-biphenyl]-4-yl)acrylonitrile (CNS-4) nanoparticle suspension shows the polarity-dependent characteristics of the fluorescence properties. By the fluorescence spectroscopy and transmission electron m...
